Randy Innis has 35 years experience in the international business development arena.

Randy has extensive experience packaging deals and complex programs with public/private sector participation.  He has owned and operated his own companies and contracted with the public sector to perform a myriad of task functions over 3-4 year periods.  From freight forwarding to food processing and information technology, Randy has been involved in more than 200 different projects and programs over the years and communicates with a solid network of service providers around the world.

2002 to Present—Las Vegas, NV

President of Randy Innis & Associates, Inc., a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business providing services to Prime Contractors and Government Agencies.

Director of Nevada Operations for Technology Ventures Corporation, a non-profit charitable foundation created in collaboration with the National Nuclear Security Administration to commercialize technology off the national labs, universities and private sector.

1995-2002—Bakersfield, CA

  • May-August, 2002—Contract with the International Executive Service Corps (IESC) to organize, recruit and lead an Information Technology Trade Mission to Egypt and provide follow-up assistance to U.S. and Egyptian companies.

  • November 2001—Contract with the IESC to lead a Food Processing Equipment Manufacturers Trade Mission to Egypt.

  • Principally responsible for the opening of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Commercial Service Export Assistance Center in Kern County.

  • 1996-2001—Contract with Kern County via the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) to direct the Kern County Export Development Program.  Company participants had $70 million in export sales and generated 240 new jobs over a three-year period.

  • 1996-2001—International trade consultant for the SBDC.  Designed and implemented a five-module course focusing on the fundamentals of international trade.

  • April 1996—participated in a mission to Cixi, China, Bakersfield’s Sister City in China.  Signed an MOU between to two cities to develop two-way trade.

  • 1996—Co-organizer and presenter during Friendship City mission to Queretaro, Mexico to develop two-way trade relationships.

  • 1996—Contracted with the Technology Initiative for the Private Sector in Sri Lanka for 45 days on “in-field” analysis of how to increase competitiveness of more than 20 companies.  Follow-up with six companies at the Fancy Food Show in San Francisco where three obtained trial orders from U.S. buyers.

  • 1995—Consulted the International Trade and Transportation Center in Shafter, CA on Foreign Trade Zone and Public Facility Warehouse development.

1990-1994 ---Patrick’s Restaurant and Lounge—owner/operator, LasVegas, NV.

1985-1990 ---International Commercial Services (ICS)—Vice President, Washington D.C., Springfield, MA, and San Jose, Costa Rica.

  • ICS was a prime-consulting contractor with the Bureau of Science and Technology of the U.S. Agency for International Development of the U.S. Department of State for the Marketing/Technology Access Program.

  • The four-year contract focused on technology transfer to Costa Rica, joint venture business development in Costa Rica, and exports of goods from Costa Rica to the U.S.

  • Consulted three Foreign Trade Zone projects. Interfaced with public/private sectors on trade and economic development.

  • Opened the office in Washington, D.C. in 1986.

  • Industry expert on three missions with the Organization of American States to El Salvador, Guatemala and Costa Rica.  Served as Co-chair of the International Trade Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce.

  • Founder of the U.S./Costa Rican Commission on the Abatement of Drugs and Pre-inspection in conjunction with the USDA, U.S. Customs, the DEA and the Minister of Foreign Trade.

  • Oversaw program to deliver fresh fish from Costa Rica to New England market and cut flower bouquets to Waldbaum’s Supermarkets in MA.

  • Worked on more than 100 projects ranging from agro, food processing, water treatment, furniture, contact lenses, electronics, plastics and metal fabrication and tourism/investment promotion.

  • Worked on ten Industry Organized-Government Approved business missions in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Commerce.

1985 ---USDA Marketing Workshop for the Caribbean Basin, Director, New Orleans, LA.

  • Five-day concurrent sessions with 150 speakers.

  • 80 exhibits from 27 countries and 38 states that attended.

  • 700 participants to learn about trade development, technology transfer, marketing and sales, and financing.

  • Joint cooperative effort with the USDA, USAID, the U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Treasury, U.S. Customs, the State of Louisiana, the city of New Orleans, and the New Orleans World Trade Center.

1978-1984 ----Industria Flexografica and ENHECO, S.A., Partner/General Manager, San Jose, Costa Rica.  Flexographic printing plant with 30 employees and $5 million in sales with distribution in Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador, Miami and New Orleans.

ENHECO distributed products from the U.S., Argentina, Spain, and Brazil to the Central American/Panama markets like Old Parr Whiskey, ECKO House wares, Remington Rand, BIC, 3M, Zivi, Balmarco and others.

ENHECO had a subsidiary, Intercontinental Forwarders that acted as a jobber, consolidator for Costa Rican companies wanting to identify raw materials for industry available in the U.S.  Intercontinental offered warehouse-warehouse delivery for more than $13 million a year in goods.

1977-1978 ---Coca Cola, U.S.A., the Wine Spectrum, State Sales Manager for Idaho/Montana, Boise, ID 

Started with Coke’s Wine Spectrum in Los Angeles, CA, as a winery representative for the Taylor Wine Company and Monterrey Cellars with responsibility for Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley.

Promoted to State Sales Manager after one year with the company.

1974-1976  Piper Aircraft, Assistant to the Manager of Production, Vero Beach, FL
